3 onions 3 carrots 3 turnips 1 small cabbage 1 pint cherry tomatoes Chop all the vegetables, except the tomatoes, very fine. Have ready in a large pot 3 quarts boiling water; put in all except tomatoes and cabbage; simmer for one-half hour; add the chopped cabbage and tomatoes; also a bunch of sweet herbs. Let soup boil for twenty minutes; Add two tablespoons full of butter, one tablespoon flour; beat to cream. Add salt, pepper and seasonings to taste, then add a teaspoon of turbinado sugar; one-half cup sweet cream, if you have it; stir in mix into soup; let it boil up, and it is ready for the table. Yep, that's pretty quick for homemade, delicious soup. Enjoy!
